After completing his MBA, Jim Gallant took a position as a researcher with the New York State Senate in 1976. Within months he had authored a comprehensive book titled “Promoting Economic Development…Rebuilding the Empire Image.”
Gallant’s work became the cornerstone of a major effort to resuscitate New York State ’s economy. The state’s Commerce Department launched major industrial development advertising efforts based on his recommendations. It also lured Gallant away from the Senate to take the position of Marketing Manager for the New York State Division of Tourism. He played an instrumental role in developing and introducing the internationally famous “I LOVE NEW YORK ” campaign.
With the Division of Tourism, Jim worked with dozens of advertising agencies to promote numerous tourist attractions, sporting facilities, and convention centers.
During a communications career that has spanned more than 30 years, Gallant has worked on both the client and agency sides of the communications desk, preferring the agency side. He has written and produced television and radio commercials, brochures, billboards, and campaign speeches. He has worked for some of the biggest companies and brand names in the world, including General Electric, Corning, Fairchild, DuPont, and BMW.
Jim now resides in the Shenandoah Valley in central Virginia.
His hobbies are reading and fly fishing.
Though he has thrived near the top of the advertising world, Gallant’s current fee structure reflects the down-to-earth surroundings he now inhabits.
“I have an office equipped with all the tools of this age,” Gallant says. “It pleases me to be able to bring my skills and experience to work for people anywhere. I can help a business grow in Birmingham, Boise, or Bangor. Distance doesn’t exist.”
Jim is still actively involved with every radio advertising campaign and it's production, regardless of how large or small the job. Gallant Communications is capable of working with companies anywhere, of any size that wish to improve their advertising and public relations efforts.

The Process
When you contact Gallant Communications, we will call you to make certain you understand the steps we will take, the time line you can expect, the fees you will be charged, and whether or not you would like us to handle placement for you. Here are the steps.
Step 1 - You will receive a long questionnaire to complete. The information you will provide will help us to understand where your business is currently and how we can help promote your business through radio advertising. We will also ask you to send us copies of any advertising you have done in the past so our advertising team can review those efforts.
Step 2 - After we have reviewed the questionnaire and past advertising that you have returned, we will discuss the information you have provided and clarify anything that might be questionable.
Step 3 - Our team will write two totally different creative demonstration scripts—two different ways to present your business services or products. We will contact 3 to 5 voice talent actors to audition to be the voice for your firm and get each of them to record demo scripts. Our radio production specilists will provide a written explanation of why we have written the scripts in the manner that we have—and a CD with the voice over talent auditions. You will have a CD so you can play it repeatedly while you decide which voice and which approach you would like to use.
Step 4 - After you have selected a voice and a creative approach, our team will write final scripts for your approval. Once approved, they’ll be recorded and produced. They will be sent to you via express mail for your approval before being used on air.
Step 5 - Once you have approved the final radio commercials, they will be forwarded to the appropriate stations.
I hope this sounds reasonable to you and that you will want to hire Gallant Communications to create a radio campaign for you. You’ll probably want to have some idea of the fees involved.
